This policy explains what personal information Engado collects, why we collect it, how we look after it, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it in plain language. If anything is unclear, get in touch and we will explain it properly.

Who we are

Engado is a service that introduces real, verified websites to each other so they can trade value for value. This website (engado.com) and the Engado application are operated by Engado Pty Ltd (ACN 630 792 040), Unit 1B, 185 The Entrance Road, Erina NSW 2250, Australia. In this policy, "we", "us", and "Engado" mean that entity, and we are the data controller for the information described here.

For any privacy question or request, contact us at privacy@engado.com or through our contact page.

What this policy covers

This policy covers the Engado marketing website at engado.com, including the newsletter and contact form, and the Engado service itself when you create an account and use it. It does not cover third-party websites we link to, which have their own policies.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Newsletter. If you subscribe, we collect your email address.
  • Contact form. If you message us, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message.
  • Account and service. If you sign up for Engado, we collect the details needed to run your account, such as your name, email, the website you are verifying, and information about the partnerships and messages you create on the platform.

Information we collect automatically

  • Technical and log data. Like most websites, our hosting providers record basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device, and the pages you request, for security, reliability, and troubleshooting.
  • Anti-spam. Our forms use a bot-protection challenge that may process limited technical signals to tell humans from automated abuse.

We do not currently run advertising trackers or third-party analytics that profile you across the web. If that changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.

How we use your information

  • To send you the newsletter you asked for, and to let you unsubscribe at any time.
  • To respond to your enquiries and provide support.
  • To provide, operate, secure, and improve the Engado service.
  • To prevent spam, fraud, and abuse, and to keep the platform trustworthy.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

Our legal bases

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on the following:

  • Consent, for sending you the newsletter. You can withdraw it at any time.
  • Contract, to provide the service you have signed up for.
  • Legitimate interests, to secure our platform, respond to you, and improve what we offer, balanced against your rights.
  • Legal obligation, where we must keep or disclose information to comply with the law.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, and only as needed to run Engado:

  • Resend, to deliver the newsletter and handle contact-form email.
  • Cloudflare, for hosting the Engado marketing website, content delivery, and bot protection.
  • Netlify, for hosting the Engado application.
  • Supabase, for application infrastructure, including our database, authentication, account records, messages, partnership data, and public pricing information.
  • Stripe, for payment processing.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the public. If Engado is ever involved in a merger or acquisition, information may be transferred as part of that deal and, where required, we will notify you.

International transfers

Some of our service providers are based outside your country, including in the United States. This means your personal information may be processed or stored outside your country. We take reasonable steps to ensure that our service providers handle personal information appropriately and in accordance with applicable data protection requirements. For more on the rights of people in the EEA and UK, see our GDPR page.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Contact-form messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and our records. Account data is kept for the life of your account and for a reasonable period afterwards, unless the law requires longer.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email privacy@engado.com. People in the EEA and UK can find more detail on the GDPR page.

Cookies

We use only the cookies and similar technologies needed to make the site work and keep it secure, including for our bot-protection challenge. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add optional cookies in future, we will ask for your consent where required.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encryption in transit and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but you can read more about our approach on the security page.

Children

Engado is a service for businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know.
