A connection request is how you start a conversation with another site. You send one with a short, personal note. If they accept, a chat opens and the two of you work out what you will do together.
Sending a request
- Open a site from Discover or search.
- Choose Connect and write a short note. Say who you are and why a tie-up makes sense for both of you. A specific, human note gets accepted far more often than a generic one.
- Send it.
The other site sees your note and your verified profile, and decides.
When they accept
A one to one chat opens. From there it is a normal conversation: agree what each side will do, when, and keep it value for value. The trade is yours to shape, a mention, a guest post, a newsletter feature, a link that fits, or a mix.
When they decline, or do not reply
Not every request lands, and that is fine. A decline is not a mark against you. If you do not hear back, leave it, there are other good fits, and chasing rarely helps.
Daily limits
There is a cap on how many connection requests each of your websites can send in a rolling 24 hours (20 by default). Messages are capped too. This is on purpose: the limit keeps outreach personal and keeps the network free of the blast-everyone behaviour that makes other tools feel like spam. If you are hitting the cap, you are almost certainly reaching out too widely, slow down and aim at the sites that genuinely fit.
The exact limits can change as we tune them. The app shows what applies to your account right now.
A note on tone
Engado works because real people decide a partnership is worth it. Write to someone the way you would want to be written to: brief, specific, and clear about what is in it for them.
